Please let Brooke (brooke.erdman@villanova.edu) know what you want to take, and if you know your student ID please include that as well. If you aren’t quite sure what you want to take, just be sure to let Brooke know ASAP, but certainly before the end of the semester!

A few important reminders:
- Your advisor serves as a resource if you have questions about (1) how to design your course of study so that it best meets your needs, and/or (2) whether to pursue your graduate studies further at the Ph.D. level. Meeting with your advisor is strictly optional. Unless you wish to do so, you do not need to consult with your advisor to register for classes. Regardless of whether you speak to your advisor about the classes you wish to register for, please remember that you must always contact me in order to register for classes.
- There are two requirements for the degree, one pre-1800 British literature course, and one pre-1900 American literature course. This semester, ENG 8250 will count for the British requirement. You do not have to take these in your first year, as long as you take them prior to your last semester. You are responsible for keeping track of these requirements.
- You can take up to two courses outside of the department to count toward your degree. You can look up other department courses on the Master Schedule in myNova. If you want to take a course outside of the department, you should first request permission from Evan Radcliffe by letting him know how it relates to your studies, and copy Brooke so she can give you the next step.
- If you are finishing up in the spring and will be working on a thesis or field exam, Brooke has to register you accordingly so let her know which you will be doing. If you are still unsure of what you will be pursuing, you have until the proposal deadline to let me know which you want to register for. The deadline to submit a proposal to Brooke is December 14th.
