Upcoming events: 2026 CONCEPT Recognition Ceremony

We hope you can be present on Friday, April 24, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the Driscoll Atrium to celebrate the launch of the 2026 edition of   CONCEPT , Villanova's interdisciplinary journal of graduate studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. CFP: Villanova's Graduate Student Research Journal - Call for Papers and Call for Volunteers

Villanova's interdisciplinary graduate student research journal,  CONCEPT,  recently opened for article submissions! CONCEPT is also searching for volunteers to serve as peer-reviewers. This is a great opportunity to publish your research or gain experience with peer-reviewing. See more details below: Call for Papers The journal is now accepting article submissions. The author of the best article in the 2021 issue will receive the Graduate Student Research Prize. The deadline for submission is Monday, February 1, 2021. Submissions should be material that has been researched as part of graduate work at Villanova. Authors should register with the website, http://concept.journals.villanova.edu   and follow the instructions there for posting their submission. Four English Students Published in CONCEPT

Four Villanova graduate English students have published original scholarship in CONCEPT, Villanova's interdisciplinary journal of graduate studies, this spring. The students are Caitlyn Dittmeier (Networks of Foam: Becoming through Relation in Marianne Moore's Shoreline Poems), Anne Jones (Tracing the Missing Letter: Reassembling Nonhuman Agency in Jhumpa Lahiri’s The Namesake ), Nicholas Keough (Boys Will Be Boys: Constructions of Toxic Masculinity in Dramatic, Metaphorized, and Real-Life War Spaces), and Olivia Stowell (A Form of Work We’d Rather Not Do Alone: Chen Chen, Poetics of Relationality, and the Intersubjective Lyric I). CONCEPT accepts submissions from Villanova graduate students in all fields of the arts and sciences. Grad Students Published in CONCEPT

Congratulations to Alex Einspahr, Cassandra Modica, Kristen Sieranski, Lia Mrozinski, Sarah Morgan, Nicholas Keough, Nick Manai, and Jesse Schwartz, who were all published in the Spring 2019 volume of  CONCEPT , Villanova's interdisciplinary journal of graduate studies! Papers written by Alex, Cassandra, and Kristen were published in CONCEPT's print issue, and papers by Lia, Sarah, Nicholas, Nick, and Jesse were published in CONCEPT online.

CONCEPT 2019: Call for Submissions

CONCEPT, Villanova's interdisciplinary journal of graduate studies, is now seeking submissions. The deadline for submission is Friday, February 1, 2019. We are also looking for volunteers to serve as peer reviewers for the 2019 issue. PAPERS : We are looking for well-written, well-researched, and not-too-technical papers of up to 25 pages. Students from all of the Graduate Studies Programs for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences are encouraged to submit. We seek papers that are exemplary in their respective disciplines and that address topics with an interdisciplinary appeal for our broad readership. Submissions should be material that has been researched as part of graduate work at Villanova. Selection for publication is highly competitive. We will recognize the best paper of the 2019 issue with the Graduate Research Prize. The winning author will be formally recognized at a publication celebration on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from noon to 1:30 PM in Falvey Room 205. ...

Looking for Editing/Peer Review Work? Consider CONCEPT

Dr. John Kurtz, the faculty Managing Editor for CONCEPT, the interdisciplinary journal for graduate students in the college, is looking for students to serve as either editors or peer reviewers. From Dr. Kurtz: "We are looking for graduate students who are interested in sharing their scholarship and/or serving as Peer Reviewers for the 2019 issue. The graduate students will be receiving direct emails about CONCEPT later in the semester, but interested students can contact me anytime. Please let me know if you have any questions about submitting papers, positions on our editorial board, or anything else about CONCEPT. Concept 2017 Graduate Research Prize

Concept , Villanova's own Graduate Journal published its latest volume this April. We are proud to announce that the winner of this year's Graduate Research Prize went to our very own Kevin Halleran for his essay "Nothing But a Good Man Feeling Bad: How Toomer Sings the Blues in Cane ."

Villanova Graduate Student Research Journal Now Accepting Submissions

The author of the best article in the 2015 issue will receive the Graduate Student Research Prize. Submissions should be material that has been researched and written as part of graduate work at Villanova and may be up to 25 pages. Scholars from all of the Graduate Studies Programs for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences are invited to submit. It's that time of year again! CONCEPT, the interdisciplinary journal sponsored by the Graduate Program in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, is now accepting both article submissions and volunteers to serve as editors and peer-reviewers. The author of the best article in the 2013 issue will receive the Graduate Student Research Prize. Authors should register with the website , and follow the instructions for posting their submission (authors may submit no more than 1 article for consideration). Those interested in serving as editors and peer-reviewers should consult the job descriptions posted on the website .
