Georgetown University's English Graduate Student Association is looking for presentation proposals for   their spring conference, upcoming at the end of April. The theme this year is The Humanities & The Age of COVID: ‘Disruption, Hesitation, Silence.’ In the light of the current pandemic climate, the conference will be held entirely asynchronously and virtually, so presenters will submit a video of themselves presenting their work. This April, Carnegie Mellon University’s English Colloquia hosts their first-ever graduate conference on "Bridges and Borders: Navigating Problems and Possibilities in Language and Culture." They encourage any graduate student in the humanities to propose a paper, poster presentation, or roundtable. The conference keynote speaker is Dr. Jasbir K. Puar. The PMR is making an open call to scholars, institutions, and societies to propose papers, panels, or sponsored sessions for their upcoming conference in all areas and topics in late antiquity/patristics, Byzantine Studies, Medieval Studies, Islamic Studies, Jewish Studies, and Renaissance and Reformation Studies. Scholars are especially invited, but not required, to address the conference's plenary theme of thought and prayer. The deadline for submission is July 30th, 2020, and notices of acceptance will be sent by August 15, 2020. The conference will take place, virtually, from October 16-18, 2020, at Villanova. The University of Connecticut is hosting a one-day graduate student Irish Studies conference, "Emerging Voices in Irish Studies," on March 3, 2018. As always, remember that if you decide to submit proposals to any conferences, be sure to consider applying for funding. See the Graduate Studies Office’s webpage on  Conference Travel Funding . And remember that you have to apply for the funding before you attend the conference. (In recent years, the funding has tended to run out early in the spring semester.) If necessary, they might also seek funding through their departments and the Center for Irish Studies.
